11/12/2017 Weekly Message

Good Evening Sandy Plains Families,
This is Mr. Harrington with the Sunday Weekly Message.
School News
  • This week we will be celebrating American Education Week.  During American Education Week, our school will have grade level visitation days.  We invite all parents to visit their student’s classroom on each grade level’s visitation day.  Each visitation day will last from 9am-11am.  The visitation days are listed below:
    • Monday, November 13: Pre-K, K, and 1st Grade:
    • Tuesday, November 14: 2nd and 3rd Grade:
    • Wednesday, November 15: 4th and 5th Grade:
  • On Thursday, November 16 our school will be hosting Grandparent’s Day from 9am-11am.  All Grandparents are welcome to visit Sandy Plains on Thursday, November 16.
  • We have many exciting things happening during American Education Week and in order to help keep our school as safe as possible all visitors must sign in and receive a visitor’s badge.  Thanks for your help in adhering to BCPS visitor policies.
  • This Thursday, report cards will be sent home.  There are two changes that parents will see on their student’s report card.  First, there will be no comments written for 1st quarter as teachers will be meeting with parents during conference day to provide feedback on progress.  Also, third graders will be receiving achievement codes rather than letter grades this year.  If you have any questions about report cards please do not hesitate to contact our school.
  • This Friday is conference day for all elementary school.  This means there is no school for students on Friday.  Please make sure to sign up for conferences with your student’s teacher.  This will give all parents a chance to discuss academic progress with your student’s teacher.
PTA News
