9/10/2017 Weekly Message

This is Mr. Harrington with the Sunday Weekly Message.
School News
  • We had a great first week of school and I would like to thank all of our students, families, teachers and staff for helping to make our first week of school a huge success!  Students were eager to come back to school and their behaviors throughout the school showed how excited they are to begin learning.  Thanks everyone for a great start!
  • Our school will be hosting two volunteer trainings this week.  On Tuesday, September 12 at 3:30pm and on Friday, September 15 at 9am, Mrs. Wengler will be holding volunteer training.  This training is mandatory each year for all who wish to volunteer or chaperone on a field trip.  Both trainings will take place in the cafeteria.
  • During the school day, students tend to get thirsty and may need a drink of water.  We are encouraging parents to have their students bring in a water bottle that can be refilled if needed during the school.  Thanks for your support in helping to promote healthy choices for our students.
  • If you are interested in helping out in our food pantry please mark your calendar for Thursday, September 28th.  Mr. Stevenson, our School Social Worker will be holding volunteer training for the food pantry.  This training will take place at 10am on September 28th
  • Information about Magnet School Programs will be sent home to 5th graders this week.  Baltimore County Public Schools offers multiple Magnet Programs for middle school students.  If you are interested in Magnet Programs then be on the lookout for this informational flyer this week.
PTA News
  • Monday night is our first PTA meeting of the school year.  We will begin our first meeting at 4pm in the cafeteria.  We hope to see many parents out for our first PTA meeting of the school year!
  • Monday is also the kick-off of our PTA’s first fundraiser of the school year.  The PTA will be selling Claire’s Gourmet products.  More information about this fundraiser will be going home with students on Monday.
Thanks for your continued support and have a wonderful evening!
