This is Mr. Harrington with the Sunday Weekly Message. 

School News

  • BCPS is currently conducting a high school capacity study and is in need of community input.  There are multiple ways to provide your opinion and learn more about this study.  Families are encouraged to complete the BCPS High School Capacity survey on the BCPS website.  Community members are also welcome to attend any of the three informational sessions on the following dates:
  • Tuesday, September 18, New Town High School, Auditorium/Cafeteria
  • Monday, September 24, Eastern Technical High School, Cafeteria
  • Tuesday, October 2, Loch Raven High School, Auditorium/Lobby
    • All sessions begin at 7 pm
  • Our Sandy Plains fall book fair is scheduled for the week of October 8.  We are currently looking for volunteers.  If you are interested, please contact our main office.
  • Mark your calendars!  General John Stricker Middle School will be hosting Code Night tomorrow from 6:30-7:30 pm.  This night will feature opportunities for families to learn about the technology of coding. Please contact General John Stricker Middle School at 443-809-7038.
  • The Baltimore County Fire Department is  trying to get more smoke detectors into homes.  Our Fire Department will install smoke detectors in homes for free! Flyers will be coming soon about this program.  If you are interested in having a free smoke detector installed in your home please call 410-887-4500 and choose option 3.

PTA News

  • Please consider joining the PTA and help continue to make Sandy Plains a special place for all students! Membership forms are available in our main office.
  • Our Claire’s fundraiser is still going on.  If you would like more information about this fundraiser please contact our main office.
  • Thanks to everyone that attended our first PTA meeting of the school year last Monday.  Our next PTA meeting is on Monday, October 8 starting at 4 pm.
