9/2/2018 Weekly Message

Good Evening Sandy Plains Families,
This is Mr. Harrington with the Sunday Weekly Message.  I hope everyone is enjoying a nice Labor Day weekend!
School News
  • The first day of school is on Tuesday!  We are all excited to welcome our students back!  As a friendly reminder, our school doors open at 8:30 am.  We encourage all students to show up between 8:30 and 8:45 am.  For students that show up prior to 8:30 am, we would like to have all students line up on the line with their grade level listed on it.  We do not have adult supervision outside until 8:30 am, which is why we encourage all families to arrive between 8:30-8:45 am
  • During arrival and dismissal our front and side parking lots are closed.  Please be mindful of this policy as this helps to keep all of our students and families safe during arrival and dismissal
  • This year, Baltimore County Public Schools is implementing a new safety procedure for students from the ALICE Training Institute.  In order to keep all stakeholders informed, I will be hosting an ALICE informational parent session on Monday, September 17 at 6 pm.  We will meet in the cafeteria.
PTA News
  • Please consider joining the PTA and help continue to make Sandy Plains a special place for all students! Membership forms are available in our main office.
  • Our first PTA meeting for this school year will be on Monday, September 17 at 4 pm.  Please join us on Monday, September 17 for the first PTA meeting of the school year!
I hope everyone has a great weekend and I cannot wait to see all of our students for the first day of school on Tuesday!
Have a wonderful evening!
