9/9/2018 Weekly Message

Good Evening Sandy Plains Families,
This is Mr. Harrington with the Sunday Weekly Message.
School News
  • Thanks to all of our students, staff, and families for helping to make our opening week of school a success.  Thanks to everyone for helping to make this first week wonderful!
  • Schools will be closed tomorrow in observance of Rosh Hashanah.
  • Safety is our top priority for all of our students.  We would like to remind everyone to use the crosswalk when walking to school.  During arrival, we have staff members located at all crosswalks on our campus to enhance safety.  Please remind your student to use crosswalks as this is the safest way to walk to school.
  • Free and Reduced Meal forms are still available.  This form can be completed on-line at or forms can be picked up in our Sandy Plains office.  If you have any questions, please contact our main office.
  • Mark your calendars!  This year, I will be hosting ‘Coffee with the Principal’ three times throughout the school year.  The goal of this event is to share school updates and give all stakeholders a chance to ask questions or provide suggestions to make Sandy Plains even better.  I will be hosting ‘Coffee with the Principal’ on November 5, February 12, and May 14.  We will begin at 9:30am each day.  I hope to have many parents in attendance.
  • This year, Baltimore County Public Schools is implementing a new safety procedure for students from the ALICE Training Institute.  In order to keep all stakeholders informed, I will be hosting an ALICE informational parent session on Monday, September 17 at 6pm.  We will meet in the cafeteria.
